Why is Google CEO Eric Schmidt in Iraq?
The Government of Iraq has launched its own YouTube Channel.
It is billed as a victory for transparency, a step forward indeed, but surely with its own brand of journalism.

Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki:
“The government sees in this video technology an opportunity to show our achievements. The opening of Iraq Channel on YouTube through the National Media Center will be one of the methods that we will adopt to connect with people globally, and to show the situation developing in Iraq.”
